   Toastmasters Meeting Roles   

Every meeting is managed by club members and guests on a voluntary basis.

You learn by participating. There are many roles to fill and all meeting participants play an important part in making the club experience educational and enjoyable.

Following are the roles you will be called upon to fulfill and tips for doing a good job.

Toastmaster of the Evening (TMOE)

The Toastmaster is a meeting's director and host.

Speaker

Every speaker is a role model and club members learn from one another's speeches.

Evaluator
Evaluators provide verbal and written feedback to meeting speakers.

General Evaluator

The General Evaluator evaluates everything that takes place during the club meeting.

 

Word of the Evening

This person introduces a "Word of the Evening" that helps meeting participants increase their vocabulary.

Timer

A Timer is responsible for monitoring the time of meeting segments and speakers.

 

Ah-Counter
The purpose of the Ah-Counter is to note any overused words or filler sounds.


Table Topics Master

The Table Topics Master delivers the Table Topics portion of the meeting.


Table Topics Speaker

Table Topics helps members develop their impromptu speaking skills.

Grammarian

The Grammarian helps club members improve their grammar and vocabulary.
